A Court of Wings and Ruin

Sarah J. Maas · 2020
82/100
👍 Worth It

As the third book in the ACOTAR series, this is the culmination of Feyre's arc — the war against Hybern arrives, alliances fracture and form, and the emotional stakes are genuinely high. Maas is skilled at building a fantasy world with real mythology and at writing relationships that readers invest in deeply, and those strengths are fully present here. The series has an enormous, passionate following for good reason. However, this review has to be direct about content: the book contains multiple explicit, graphic sexual scenes, significant violence including dismemberment, and a depiction of sexual assault. Plugged In (Focus on the Family) flags serious content concerns across the series. This is not suitable for younger readers, faith-family settings, or anyone avoiding explicit content. Adults who have read the first two books and know what they are signing up for will find a satisfying conclusion to this arc.
