Hemingway's Paris memoir is a lovely, wistful read -- vivid little vignettes of poverty, ambition, and the writers who shaped him. It's worth knowing the text was edited by his widow after his death and that later scholarship disputes some of those editorial choices, so treat it as impressionistic rather than definitive. James Naughton's warm, unhurried narration is a genuine pleasure and worth the listen.
