A Passage Through Darkness
This collected volume brings together books four and five of T. Davis Bunn's Rendezvous with Destiny series — Berlin Encounter and Istanbul Express — in one post-war adventure spanning Europe and North Africa. Bunn's personal experience working across more than forty countries gives the historical settings genuine texture, and the espionage plotting keeps the pages moving. Faith themes are present throughout but woven into character and circumstance rather than delivered as sermon, which is a credit to Bunn's craft. Getting two complete novels in one volume is straightforward value for readers already invested in the series. The honest caveat is that secular readers may find the faith integration intrusive, and the 1999 publication means the prose style carries some period weight. For fans of Christian historical fiction set in the WWII era, this is a satisfying and substantial read.
