Series ✦ Penny’s Take
A Time to Keep
Rochelle Alers · 2016
70/100
👍 Worth It
Rochelle Alers knows how to build atmosphere and her Louisiana bayou setting here is genuinely evocative — the cold case thread gives this more texture than a straight romance, and the protagonist is a woman worth spending 300 pages with. Adult sensual content puts it firmly in grown-up territory, and as a 2006 novel reissued digitally it's not fresh ground, but fans of Alers or Southern-set romance with a little mystery in the mix will find it satisfying.
✦ Penny’s Take — this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read — not a page-by-page personal one. The gold ✓ Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
⚠ Parent note — our reviewers flagged: Adult sensual content — not appropriate for younger readers or family-wide recommendation. We still scored it 70; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
