Plunkett's Almanac series was a legitimate career-research tool for decades, and Library Journal's endorsement of the broader series is real. But the 1998 edition reflects a pre-internet job market with employer data that is nearly three decades old — salaries, contacts, benefits structures, and even many of the companies listed will have changed beyond recognition. No job seeker or career counselor should be using this when current online resources and current annual editions exist.
