Four novellas about new life is a sweet concept, and the Down syndrome storyline in particular gets a genuinely tender, careful treatment. But novella length means none of the four stories gets much room to breathe, so it's a pleasant read rather than a memorable one — and there's nothing on record about how narrator Rebecca Gallagher handles it.
