An Assembly Such as This: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman
Pamela Aidan Β· 2026
π Narrated by George Holmes
A clean, faithful retelling of Pride and Prejudice from Darcy's point of view, which is a fun conceit for Austen fans, but since it walks the same beats as the source material, there's not much new ground broken here. George Holmes narrates with a decent general listener rating, though I couldn't find a dedicated trade review of his performance on this title. A pleasant, low-risk listen, but not quite worth prioritizing over the original.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
π Narration: fine George Holmes has a decent aggregate listener rating (~3.9) but no dedicated trade review was found.
