This 1989 scholarly anthology was important in its time as one of the first international collections on sports anxiety, and the three-part structure covering theory, performance relationships, and control methods is logically organized. But 35-plus years of advances in sport psychology and neuroscience have significantly dated the research base, and the academic register puts it firmly out of reach for general readers. A specialist's reference, not a general recommendation.
