Assessing Mindfulness and Acceptance Processes in Clients
Ruth Baer is one of the leading researchers in mindfulness measurement, and this 2010 Context Press volume she edited reflects that authority. Each chapter focuses on a specific therapeutic process β mindfulness, acceptance, self-compassion, decentering, emotion regulation, values β reviewing the conceptual literature, the empirical research, and validated assessment tools clinicians can use with individual clients. The audience is working therapists and researchers in acceptance-based and third-wave CBT traditions, and the book genuinely serves them. For that audience, the combination of theory and ready-to-use assessment instruments is hard to find elsewhere. General readers should look elsewhere entirely. Some individual chapters may be dated as measurement science has continued to evolve since 2010.
