Bombproof

Michael Robotham writes thrillers with a sharper edge than most, and Bombproof is a good example of what he does well. Guitarist Sami Macbeth walks away from a London tube bombing carrying a stranger's rucksack, and within hours he is the most wanted man in the city — hunted by police, a drug lord, and a criminal kingpin all at once, with 54 hours to clear his name. The pace never lets up, and Robotham weaves in a genuinely dark satirical humor that gives the book a distinctive personality alongside its tension. That said, parents and faith-minded readers should know upfront: the book contains graphic violence and explicit sexual content, and the publisher's own metadata flags it as frequently crude. This is firmly adult territory. For thriller readers who know what they are signing up for, it delivers.
