Roz Chast does something almost impossible here — she makes aging parents, dementia, incontinence, and death genuinely funny without ever losing the love and grief underneath it all. The cartoons carry both the humor and the heartbreak in a way prose alone couldn't, and the result is one of the best graphic memoirs ever made. Anyone who has navigated aging parents will recognize themselves on almost every page.
