Code of Federal Regulations

This is the Federal Reserve System's official regulatory code under Title 12, compiled by Board of Governors staff around 2005. As a primary legal reference it does exactly what it promises — full text of banking regulations covering capital adequacy, consumer protection, acquisitions, and the Fed's payments role. Its authority is its own government source. The limitations are real and significant, though: this is not a book anyone reads, it is a document professionals consult, and a 2005 edition is substantially out of date given decades of subsequent rule changes. Unless you need a historical snapshot of Federal Reserve regulations from that period, a current online CFR database will serve far better. Rated for what it is, not what it isn't.
