Cream Puff Murder

All the familiar culinary cozy ingredients are present — charming protagonist, Texas small-town setting, loyal dog, pastry-related plot hook — and Scott assembles them competently. At 156 pages the story moves, but it doesn't linger long enough to make Ashley or her world feel fully real. Genre devotees will enjoy it on Kindle Unlimited; it's not a title worth seeking out otherwise.
