Gloria Ladson-Billings spent her career asking a deceptively simple question: what happens in classrooms where teachers get it right for Black students? This collected-works volume gathers her answers — the theory of culturally relevant pedagogy, its applications across subject areas, and its connections to contemporary youth culture including hip-hop. As the originator of CRP, Ladson-Billings is the primary source, and having her career-spanning essays in one volume is genuinely useful for educators and teacher educators. The caveat is that because this is a collection, some themes recycle across chapters.
