Cal Newport's four rules for reclaiming focus struck a real nerve and are widely credited with putting 'deep work' into the cultural vocabulary — even critics who push back on his flexible academic schedule admit tactics like the shutdown ritual are genuinely useful. It does get repetitive in the back half and leans heavily on male examples, but this one's a worthwhile listen and Jeff Bottoms' narration holds up fine.
