Dana Sinclair has worked with elite athletes and high-stakes professionals long enough to know which pieces of conventional self-help wisdom simply do not hold up, and the first half of this book is a brisk, credible takedown of those myths β including the idea that confidence is the master key to performance. The second half builds something more constructive: a personal pre-performance plan using breathing, mental routines, and mantras grounded in her actual work with NFL, NBA, and Olympic competitors. Publishers Weekly called the guidance down-to-earth, and that is accurate. The caveats are minor: the myth-busting section can feel repetitive by its end, and the examples lean heavily on elite sport, which creates some distance for readers whose pressure is a job presentation rather than a playoff game. Still one of the more credible performance psychology books available. Worth it.
