This early-reader nonfiction title does its job cleanly — simple text, food safety basics, and healthy eating ideas in a format familiar to classroom teachers. It is not going to capture a child's imagination the way a well-crafted picture book would, and even for its age group it is thin on depth. A solid shelf filler for an early-grades classroom collection, but not something families need to seek out.
