Series ✦ Penny’s Take
Eyes of the Void
Adrian Tchaikovsky · 2022
82/100
👍 Worth It
Tchaikovsky tightens his grip in this second volume — the cast is leaner, the stakes feel earned, and the concept of 'unspace' as a dimension of existential horror is genuinely unsettling in the best science fiction tradition. The prose won't win style prizes, but the intelligent worldbuilding and fast pacing make this exactly what good space opera is supposed to be. Readers who loved the first book will find this an improvement.
