The Field Guide series earned its place in financial planning offices over 25 years of annual updates, and within its professional niche it is a reliable practitioner reference. The 2001 edition, however, reflects pre-2001 tax law and has been superseded by decades of subsequent editions and online resources. As a read there is essentially nothing here for anyone other than a financial historian; for active practitioners, this edition should have been retired long ago.
