Jim Daly's memoir is a genuinely moving account of surviving a childhood no kid should have to survive, and it earns its hopeful ending instead of rushing to it. It's heavier than a typical inspirational read, so I'd hand it to older teens and adults rather than younger readers. If your family wants a real story of grace showing up in hard places, this one delivers.
