Freeing Someone You Love from Alcohol and Other Drugs

Rogers and McMillan give families something genuinely useful — a step-by-step intervention guide that treats addiction as illness and prepares readers for the defensive reactions they are likely to face. The compassionate framing is one of its real strengths. Published in 1992, though, it predates CRAFT and other evidence-based family approaches that are now considered more effective, so readers today would be better served by more current resources alongside or instead of this one.
