This is a competent foundational nutrition textbook that has clearly served Indian university students well for decades — the food composition charts and diet therapy coverage are its real strengths. Outside South Asian academic contexts, though, the India-specific dietary data and dense academic writing limit its usefulness sharply. Unless you're enrolled in a course that assigns it, there are more accessible nutrition resources.
