Galactic Pot-healer
Joe Fernwright repairs broken pottery in a surveillance-heavy future America where his craft has been made obsolete. When a godlike alien called Glimmung recruits him to raise a sunken cathedral on a distant planet, Joe joins a team of aliens and misfits for a mission soaked in Philip K. Dick's particular brand of gnostic paranoia and existential dread. The premise is original, Joe is one of Dick's most sympathetic protagonists, and the novel's meditation on craft and meaning is quietly moving. That said, this is not a polished or tightly plotted book β it's deliberately unresolved and experimentally loose. It also contains adult content including sexual scenes, violence, and drug references that make it entirely unsuitable for children or family audiences. For Dick completists only.
