The Hawkings found a genuinely clever formula here — embed real astrophysics essays inside a page-turning adventure, and kids absorb the science almost by accident. The plot leans on the educational mission rather than driving it independently, but for a child already lit up about space, this series is close to ideal. Start with Book 1, but this second entry is a worthy continuation.
