Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
Growing Through Grief
Margery Morgan Buckingham Β· 2026
72/100
π Worth It
Buckingham writes from lived experience and trained spiritual direction practice, and that combination gives this little book a genuine warmth and authority for its intended audience β widows who had an active faith life before their loss. At 88 pages it is more companion than comprehensive guide, and its explicitly Christian contemplative framing means it will not speak to everyone. But for the reader it is aimed at, it is honest and caring.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
