Finance ✦ Penny’s Take
Harvard Business Review on Breakthrough Leadership
Daniel Goleman · 2001
This HBR anthology collects genuinely strong leadership writing — Goleman's emotional intelligence articles are landmark pieces in the field, and the military and character-based leadership essays round out the perspective well. The roundtable with Frances Hesselbein and Frederick Smith adds fresh material beyond the reprints. As with all anthology collections, depth is uneven across articles, and the 2001 publication date means some research is now dated. Still a solid survey for students and early-career executives building a leadership foundation.
