Serious archival research from a range of contributing scholars, published by Palgrave Macmillan — this is academically credible work on Austrian economics and Hayek's intellectual life. The structural problem is that Robert Leeson wrote nearly half the volume himself, which undermines the pluralism an edited collection is supposed to provide, and reviewers note the lack of interpretive coherence that results. Specialists in the history of economic thought will find useful material here; everyone else should seek a single-author biography instead.
