Tchaikovsky handles Tynisa's grief and trauma with real emotional intelligence, and the political world-building in the Commonweal is as ambitious as anything in the series. If you have read the first six books you will find this a richly rewarding continuation that earns its darker turns. Newcomers should start at book one β there is no way in from here.
