How Ella Grew an Electric Guitar

Ellen Neuborne and co-author Orly Sade do something genuinely useful: they embed real financial concepts—pricing, profit margins, taxes, goal-setting—into a tween story about launching a small business to fund a dream. The female protagonist and band-goal premise give it energy, and the finance-professor co-authorship keeps the concepts accurate. The self-published 2011 origins show in places, and the digital economy has moved on since then, but for classroom use or a financially curious 9-12 year old, it holds up reasonably well.
