The psychology here is sound — a licensed REBT practitioner walking you through procrastination, self-doubt, and behavioral change step by step is a real thing of value. The problem is that this book was published in 1982, and the cultural references and examples have aged out in ways that can make the advice feel remote. If you're drawn to therapy-grounded self-help, a more contemporary REBT or CBT title will deliver the same framework with fresher footing.
