π Worth It
Robbie's voice is honest and full of heart, and the way this book handles a grandfather's memory loss alongside a kid's own temper feels true rather than tidy. It's a strong, empathetic read overall β just know going in that it also touches on a non-traditional family among the side characters, so faith-focused families may want to preview it first.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: Secondary-character family diversity, including an LGBTQ family, per some reviews β faith-oriented parents may want to preview before reading with children.. We still scored it 72; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
