π Skip It
Kaari's art translates Marie Lu's dystopian world with real energy, and for a graphic-novel fan who wants a quick introduction to the series, this does its job. But the adaptation compresses exactly the emotional complexity that makes the source novel worth reading β the romance feels rushed, the dialogue stiff β so if you've already read the book, you won't gain much here.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: action violence including combat and executions Β· mild teen romance. We still scored it 66; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
