Life Without Children: Stories

Roddy Doyle turns lockdown into ten small, sharp portraits of ordinary Dubliners, and he's earned his reputation for dialogue that sounds exactly like real people talking. It's melancholy in places, but never without his signature warmth threaded through. He reads it himself, which gives it an intimate feel, though as an author (not a trained performer) the listen may be a touch less polished than a pro narrator's.

🎙 Narration: good Author-narrated, which lends intimacy and authenticity to the personal material, but Doyle isn't a trained voice performer and no independent critic review of the audio performance itself was found.
