The locked-room mystery premise in a space opera setting is a clever structural hook, and the ensemble of suspects — an opera singer, a perfume trader, a snobbish aristocrat — gives the book genuine personality. But dropped narrative threads and frustratingly vague world-building are real craft problems, and limited mainstream visibility makes it hard to rank this above better-reviewed indie sci-fi. Readers who specifically enjoy cozy mystery energy in a space setting may find it charming; for others the weaknesses outweigh the concept.
