This is a rigorously scholarly psychoanalytic anthology edited by a towering figure in the field, and within that world it earns real respect. The problem is that it is mislabeled as self-help β a general reader picking this up expecting practical listening tips will find dense clinical theory instead. If you are a practicing therapist or graduate student in psychoanalysis, it fills a documented gap; everyone else should look elsewhere.
