Series ✦ Penny’s Take
Little Dorrit
Charles Dickens · 2019
88/100
👍 Worth It
Little Dorrit is Dickens at his most ambitious and incisive — Amy Dorrit is one of the great quiet heroines of English literature and the Circumlocution Office satire feels as fresh as ever. The somber tone and demanding Victorian prose mean it rewards patient readers rather than casual ones, but those who lean in will find it deeply worth the effort. One of Dickens's finest and most structurally coherent novels.
