Little Red Riding Hood with Benjy and Bubbles

Benjy and Bubbles add an earnest values-clarification layer to the old Grimm tale, and Giulio Maestro's cheerful illustrations made this a pleasant read-aloud in its era. The sidekick commentary reads as dated and slightly heavy-handed by modern picture-book standards, and the book is effectively unavailable to most families. A charming piece of picture-book history, but not one to chase down.
