Dekker and Hill weave the Christian allegory naturally into the fantasy stakes rather than letting it become a lecture, and the Circle universe mythology gives the Lost Books a genuine richness that rewards readers who've put in the time with the prior four volumes. The battle intensity is real enough that parents should preview for younger or more sensitive teens, but for the intended audience of Christian YA readers this is a solid installment in an ambitious series.
