This is the textbook that introduced Situational Leadership to a generation of managers, and the core frameworks — understanding follower readiness, adapting leadership style, building relationships — hold up remarkably well as foundational thinking. The 1996 edition does show its age in examples and data, so readers who can access a newer edition should, but the substance at the heart of this book remains a genuine contribution to management education.
