Drucker's essay collection from the early 1990s reads better with age than Kirkus gave it credit for — his observations on the knowledge economy and the decline of command-and-control management structures have proved prescient over three decades. The loose essay format means some chapters hit harder than others, and this isn't Drucker at his most focused, but for readers already interested in management history and ideas it offers genuine intellectual value.
