Self-help ✦ Penny’s Take
Maximum Ride Forever
James Patterson · 2015
58/100
👎 Skip It
Longtime fans of Max and the Flock will find some emotional payoff here — reunions, a daughter named Phoenix, a sense of closure — but the critical consensus is that this final book lands in a series that had already exhausted itself several books earlier. The post-apocalyptic setting feels rushed, the new villain doesn't land, and if you haven't read the previous eight books it's essentially incomprehensible. Worth it only for devoted completionists.
