Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
Migraine
Oliver Sacks Β· 1999
88/100
π Worth It
Oliver Sacks at his best: rigorous enough for clinicians, humane enough for anyone who has suffered through an attack wondering what their brain is doing. He treats migraine not as an inconvenient headache but as a window into consciousness itself β and the migraine art he includes makes abstract symptoms startlingly concrete. Some treatment sections are dated, but the phenomenological depth is irreplaceable and the New York Times was right to call him one of the great clinical writers of the twentieth century.
