Musonius Rufus

Caius Musonius Rufus · 2011
78/100
👍 Worth It

Musonius Rufus is the missing Stoic — his practical ethics on marriage, food, women's education, and hardship are nowhere else collected in English with this kind of accessibility. Cynthia King's translation reads cleanly and William B. Irvine's preface gives casual Stoicism readers a trustworthy on-ramp. The self-published format and fragmentary nature of the source material keep it from a higher score, but as a primary source it is irreplaceable.
