Peace Theories and the Balkan War

As a primary document from a Nobel laureate written two years before the First World War proved him tragically right, this short essay has genuine historical and intellectual value. The arguments are prescient, the analytical framework still interesting. But the 2014 reprint adds nothing — no introduction, no context, no scholarly apparatus — and that limits its practical usefulness to everyone except readers who already know enough to supply their own context.
