Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
Practical Ethics
Henry Sidgwick Β· 2012
82/100
π Worth It
Sidgwick asking about official deception, animal experimentation, and just war in 1898 and still sounding current is the most compelling thing about this collection. The Oxford University Press edition with Sissela Bok's introduction gives it genuine scholarly scaffolding, and the essay format makes it more accessible than his massive Methods of Ethics. Dense prose is a real barrier for casual readers, but serious students of applied ethics will find this quietly essential.
