Rhythm of War

πŸ‘ Worth It

The fourth Stormlight Archive novel is over 1,200 pages and earns most of them. Navani Kholin's scientific partnership with the Fused scholar Raboniel raises genuinely uncomfortable questions about discovery and moral complicity, and Kaladin's battle with PTSD is handled with a compassion and honesty that sets the book apart from most epic fantasy. Brandon Sanderson is working at the top of the series here in terms of emotional depth and character consequence. The honest caveat is real: readers must come through three prior 1,000-page novels to get the full weight of what happens, the pacing across multiple POV threads is uneven, and the book contains depictions of suicidal ideation, injury, and torture that are not gratuitous but are genuinely heavy. For dedicated Stormlight readers who are ready for a darker, more interior volume, this is a series highlight.
