Series ✦ Penny’s Take
Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports

The third Maximum Ride book moves fast and fans of the series will finish it in an afternoon, but critics were right that the plot loses its thread — loose ends pile up, and the villain's eugenics plan feels more confused than menacing. Die-hard fans of Max and her flock will want to read it anyway, but as a finale it disappoints more than it satisfies.
