Jacobsen and Jacobsen do something genuinely valuable here: they show that the Reformed integration model that has dominated Christian scholarship isn't the only legitimate approach, and they do it with Oxford University Press rigor and a dialogical structure that models the very openness they're arguing for. The audience is narrow — this is a book for faculty at Christian colleges, not general readers — but within that audience it's among the more honest and constructive contributions to the conversation.
