Asimov and Greenberg curating Golden Age novellas is a reliable signal of quality, and the longer novella format genuinely showcases what the 1940s SF era did best. The complication is that this 1991 Galahad edition is a trimmed variant of the original Mammoth Book, and the absence of reviews specific to this edition makes it hard to know exactly what was lost. Dedicated Golden Age SF fans will enjoy it, but the better-documented original edition is the more defensible recommendation.
