In 1986, a comprehensive bibliography of English-language SF/F series was genuinely useful, and Cottrill, Greenberg, and Waugh were the right people to compile it. Today, the Internet Speculative Fiction Database does the same work more completely, more accurately, and for free. This has real value as a historical artifact and for collectors, but as a working reference tool it has been superseded. The score reflects its current utility, not its importance when published.
